Egg Noodles
Since I waited until the very last minute to put something together for the staff Thanksgiving dinner, I was forced to search my cupboards. The only thing I had, that could be turned into anything remotely close to a side dish for Thanksgiving, were egg noodles. I am now aware of numerous recipes that utilize egg noodles!
The recipe I found called for raisins (ooppss... none of those) and pecans (hmmm... none of those either). However, I did have raisin bran cereal!
1 12 oz. package egg noodles
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup raisins
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon salt
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup of butter
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook noodles for 8 to 10 minutes until al dente (drain.) In a large bowl, combine noodles, sugar, raisins, pecans, salt and eggs. Melt butter in a 8 x 12 inch baking dish. Tilt to coat the dish with the melted butter. Pour remaing butter into noodle mixture and stir. Pour noodle mixture into baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake in preheated oven for 55-60 minutes until top is browned.
Believe it or not... the raisin bran worked! It tasted pretty good, both warm and cold. Glad I had made some to test the night before, because when I finally made it through the dinner line... it was gone!

Smart Clothes
Each day something new happens at school. I just have to laugh and plan on reteaching the same lesson again on the next day...
Student: Miss Clancy why are you wearing smart clothes?
Me: What do you mean? What are you talking about?
Student: Your clothes(es) is smart today.
Me: Are you saying that I have intelligent clothes?
Student: No, I mean it is like me wearing "sweet" (suit).
Me: So a suit is smart too?
Student: Yes. Business and smart, not like now. I wear sport clothes(es) (nice jeans, dress shoes, button down-shirt and argyle sweater).
Me: Those are not sport clothes!
Student: Yes? These is not smart clothes(es) like you.
Me: So, are you saying I normally wear dumb clothes? :)
And the conversation continued. SO, this means... everything I said in class didn't even get close to sinking in because he was to busy thinking about my "smart clothes(es)".
